Font Conference: something only designer’s will find funny

Ok, so I may be a little slow on the uptake to post this as it has made the rounds already, but it’s a worthy post nonetheless. Not a truly Canadian post [who knows, maybe the creators are are closet canucks], but something that certainly resonates with all designers, no matter what their coordinates.

This made me feel like I did when at the designer-crammed theatre to see Helvetica, the documentary about a typeface. We all laughed at the right moments, nodded in consensual agreement, all knowing that the ushers and concession workers were rolling their eyes at our in-jokes. In trying to relate it to my hubby later, it wound up being a “you had to be there” moment.

Font Conference does a good job of tapping into that same inner geekdom of designers, especially graphic designers, or those who often deal with type. It’s nicely shot [certainly not something I'd expect to see on CollegeHumor] and hits a lot of the right marks. Alas, no beloved Trajan, though.
